Abstrak

Signifikansi gambar merupakan salah satu diskursus paling umum dalam praktik dan pendidikan arsitektur. Saat ini, riset-riset mengenai hubungan antara kemampuan menggambar dan performa studi mahasiswa arsitektur memunculkan beragam temuan, menandakan bahwa konteks memegang peran penting dalam menentukan hubungan tersebut. Karenanya, menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dalam bentuk pengukuran korelasi sederhana, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menambah wawasan melalui eksplorasi hubungan antara kemampuan menggambar mahasiswa arsitektur dan hasil tahap-tahap studio perancangan dalam mana satu studio menekankan satu aspek perancangan, dalam konteks pendidikan sarjana arsitektur Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa, meskipun terdapat variasi korelasi sepanjang tahap-tahap studio, signifikansi kemampuan menggambar dengan tangan nampak lebih jelas pada studio tertentu dengan tekanan pada kemampuan orkestrasi bentuk-ruang dan mempresentasikan produk rancangan dengan gambar tangan; hal ini menandakan peran penting gambar tangan baik dalam hal menggagas maupun dalam hal menyajikan rancangan.
