Abstrak

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English Language Teaching (ELT) has attracted increasing attention as digital technologies reshape language education. This study aims to examine how AI technologies are applied in ELT and to identify emerging technological and pedagogical trends in AI-supported language learning. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA framework was conducted to identify and analyze relevant studies. The review focused on publications from 2020 to 2026 and resulted in a final dataset of 16 selected articles. The analysis shows that various AI technologies are utilized in ELT, including neural networks, deep learning systems, generative AI tools, intelligent learning platforms, and AI-supported blended learning environments. These technologies are mainly implemented to support adaptive learning systems, automated language feedback, and data-driven instructional strategies. The findings indicate that AI integration can enhance personalization, interactivity, and learning efficiency in language education. However, successful implementation requires alignment between technology and pedagogy as well as adequate digital literacy among teachers. This review provides a synthesis of recent developments in AI-assisted language learning and highlights directions for future research and practice in English language education.
